It had been about a month since my boyfriend was ported out. I didn't really feel like going out.

I'm really sorry. ...I know that doesn't really help, but.

What've you even been doing since then?

Just doing what I normally do. It's not like there's anything else to do besides that.

Well, I mean-... [ Ugh, communicating properly is hard? Since Bubblegum doesn't know where that line is that she can't cross. They're not friends or enemies. She might just be able to ask this without coming off as weird or invasive, but there's always a chance of FP deciding that she's trying too hard. Please let this not be weird. ]

You lost your boyfriend. You just said you've kinda still been upset about it. So what've you been doing to help yourself feel better?

Yeah, I miss him and it still hurts a lot... and I'm not really sure if that part's going to stop, but I'm sick of just feeling sorry for myself. It was what I did for a while and it didn't help anything, and I know he wouldn't want me to do that, either.

If this was Ooo, I'd go back to only focusing on taking care of the Fire Kingdom, but I can't do that here. All I can do is the junk I do every day, and hope that maybe things will stop sucking so much later.

[ It's a start. A little, tiny, hopeful one. Flame Princess is opening up to her at least a little. She has to play this right. ]

I'm glad you're not letting it stop you. I think that's the right way to go. ...Living without a Kingdom around to take care of is bonkers, isn't it? And you've been here longer than I have. [ But she's ruled for much less. Hm. ]

It's... it just is, I guess. It just the same junk over and over again.

Maybe shaking things up a little will help. What other friends do you have over here?

I have a few. We do things sometimes, but it's not like things can be shaken up and get really interesting here the way it could back in Ooo. [Even with friends, this place just feels... really monotonous, a lot of the time.]

Right. A lot of weird shiz goes on, but it's not like Ooo at all here. It kinda makes you miss even the chaotic junk. Kinda.

[ There's a pause. ]

So... do you need to get any shopping done?

[... Huh. That seems kind of out of nowhere.]

I don't think so? I don't really need to buy much here now that I don't have to cover everything in foil all the time.

I meant to ask about that, actually. I didn't see you trailing any fire before. Things won't burn if you touch them? [ She's that stable? ]

No, stuff still burns, but I can cast flame shield now.

Flame shield?

You know, the spell that makes things all blue and fireproof? Like with Cinnamon Bun. It's the only way he can live in the Fire Kingdom.

Right! That's why he was blue on Princess Day. So you can cast that on anything you want now. [ She sounds happy. ] You do that to all your clothes? Sounds like blue would be a cute color on you too.

Yeah. I mean, I still wear my regular clothes - [The ones that burn just as much as she does.] - most of the time, but I can cast it on human clothing, too.

You still wear the clothes you got from home? How long's it been since you got here, again?

A while, but they're made of fire, too. The stuff that gets human clothes dirty just burns away before anything can even happen.

[IT'S NOT THE SAME AS IT WOULD BE IF A HUMAN WORE THE SAME CLOTHES ALL THE TIME.........]

I mean, if you're feeling down for it. I need some new clothes myself, but I don't wanna bore your butt if we're just shopping for me.
