We're an organization of imPorts dedicated to policing- and protecting- our own.

We're also loosely affiliated with the American government, which is a mixed blessing- but it does allow us access to intelligence and resources.

Loosely affiliated is still affiliated, though. How willing were they to work with you guys before?

Fairly willing. Our leader's worked with them before, which means they're far more willing to trust her- and give her free reign- than they would a lot of other imPorts. If you want government resources without having to take orders, RISE is your best bet. Just- try to have thick skin when dealing with the Major-General. She can be rather... caustic.

This means cooperation, negotiation, and maybe a chance to let this government prepare if this all goes to heck. How much do you think she'd let us run our own search and rescue operation with ONLY- [ pause for emphasis ] -resources and intel from the military?

Look, she can be harsh, but she's not stupid, or needlessly bloodthirsty. If you find her that offputting, let me do the negotiations.

She might demand the right to offer further input, and the right to tell us to back off if it looks like your actions will have larger consequences, or you're interefering with other operations- although having intel should prevent that.

And if I'm leading part of it, then it's technically being led by RISE members. That will make it easier for her to sell to the military.

So if it's possible, I can be with you and with the Major-General in negotiations with the Department of Defense over here to try and make this an import-led thing. And having both of you means would give it some legitimacy.

Okay. I don't wanna get this planned out before I get both of you on the team first.

Do you know the military? How on-board do you think they'd be with this? Like, what do you think their terms would be?

I'm afraid that while I was in Finland, the majority of my contact with the government has been in Law Enforcement. But the military is always eager to have imPorts help them, and judging by what I saw in Finland they're willing to not supervise us too closely- though if someone abuses that leniency, things would certainly change.

Defs not planning on having anyone abuse it, imPort or no. All I'm interested in is the most non-lethal stealth mission, with the least amount of consequence, you know?

We'd be putting a lot of innocent people in potential danger too. Citizens in general. I know a lot of them hate us already. We should let the government prepare.
